Never give out your steam acc detailes

Sounds obvious I know, but there are people out there who will try to steal your account.

These phishers are more sophisticated than just asking for your user name and password. The main ways they try to get your account details are usually:

- Pretending to be from Steam or Valve. They will usually have an official sounding name like Account Verification and will tell you something like they need to check your account as it's been used for hacking or logged from multiple IPs. They will then say they need your account details to check or your account will be banned.

- Keyloggers - These are programs that log what you type on your computer. Make sure you have anti-virus software and check for viruses and spyware regularly. You can get good anti-virus software free like AVG.

- Fake Steam sites. These will look just like a regular Steam website. What usually happens is you will get a friends message from someone on your list saying there are free games if you go to this website. They can look very convincing but you can spot them because their website address is not a proper Steam one. The people sending you the message have most likely fallen for the same trick and have had their accounts stolen.
